Door-to-door passport delivery begins in Baitadi

SATV, Kathmandu, Apr. 30 - A door-to-door campaign to deliver passports has been introduced in Baitadi with the aim of providing faster and more convenient public services.

The facility was launched after an agreement was signed on April 28 between the District Administration Office, Baitadi, and the District Postal Office, Baitadi.

Under the arrangement, citizens applying for passports will now be able to receive the document at a location of their choosing, particularly at their homes.

Officials said that once a passport is ready, it will be delivered directly to the applicant’s doorstep through the post office. The service is expected to particularly benefit residents of remote areas, senior citizens and those who face difficulty travelling to government offices.

According to officials, the initiative is expected to reduce time, costs and inconvenience for service seekers. Previously, applicants were required to appear in person at the District Administration Office to collect their passports.

Chief District Officer Dr. Dijan Bhattarai said the new system would allow citizens to obtain passports from home via postal delivery.

Concerned authorities stated that necessary coordination and management arrangements had been completed for the effective implementation of the service. Applicants have been urged to complete the required procedures and make use of the facility.
